Join us at on August 26-28, 2016 at Cherokee Cove Retreat and Training Center in Mountain City, TN for a two day training on forest farming medicinal herbs. Academic and industry experts will address the of a forest farming operation, from propagating and cultivating, to harvesting, processing and marketing native herbs. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge on a variety of plants including ginseng, goldenseal, black cohosh, and ramps. The event location will allow participants the chance to gain insight from experts and get out into the woods for some hands on learning. An optional field trip on Sunday will offer attendees a forest-floor view of an active forest farming operation and an inside look at a state-of the-art herb processing facility. The event is sponsored by Appalachian Sustainable Development and the Apalachian Beginning Forest Farmers Coalition.

Registration is open to everyone, but will be limited to 50 participants so don’t wait to register!
