Forest Farming Partners & Community

The Appalachian Forest Farmers Coalition is dedicated to cultivating and growing the practice of forest farming by connecting land owners, farmers, producers and buyers of forest products with local organizations, university programs, and community projects that are growing the future of forest farming and agroforestry— in Appalachia and beyond.

Just like the woodlands we tend, the forest farming community thrives on shared resources, diversity and relationships. Together we form an interconnected ecosystem of shared knowledge, local and regional economies, and practices designed to nurture vibrant opportunities beneath the canopy.

Whether you are a beginner or a veteran producer, this platform is built to help your grow. We invite you to explore our educational resources as well as directly connect with AFFC Partners near you. They serve as the roots of this network, providing the essential groundwork, training, and grant funding that power forest farming in Appalachia and beyond.

  • Join Forest Farming Office Hours: Participate - or just listen in - to our live, monthly lunchtime discussions hosted by the AFFC and NCSU. It’s an casual and conversational space for all experience levels to explore seasonal topics, ask questions, or simply listen and learn.
