United Plant Savers
Rutland, OH

Mission

The mission of United Plant Savers is to protect native medicinal plants of the United States and Canada and their native habitat while ensuring an abundant renewable supply of medicinal plants for generations to come.

Vision

We envision a world where the plants that heal us are themselves whole and thriving. By promoting "at-risk" species and establishing Botanical Sanctuaries, we aim to bridge the gap between herbalism and conservation through the practice of forest farming.

Featured Programs:

Botanical Sanctuary Network: A global map of member-managed lands dedicated to plant conservation.
At-Risk Species List: A vital resource used by forest farmers and wild-harvesters to prioritize the conservation of vulnerable plants like Black Cohosh and American Ginseng.
Forest Grown Verification: Co-developed with partners to provide a third-party audit for forest-farmed botanicals, ensuring sustainable stewardship.

Resources:

The Journal of Medicinal Plant Conservation: An annual publication featuring research on forest botanicals.
